Direct Care Trainer (DCT) - Swing Shift

Eagle Valley Children’s Home is a residential facility located in Carson City. We provide quality care and services to the individuals special needs. Our Caregivers/ Direct Care Trainers (DCTs) provide hands-on care and support to our amazing clients, helping them with their daily needs and activities.

COMPENSATION:

  • A $250 referral bonus for each person you refer to us (restrictions apply)

  • A competitive salary of $18.13/hr. to start and increase after successful 6-month review

OPEN POSITION:

  • Day Shift  (5:00am - 1:30pm) - no openings currently

  • Shift Shift (1:00pm - 9:00pm/10:00pm) - x2 positions available at this time (10/14/24)

As a DCT, you will:

  • Assist clients with personal care, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and assisting with meals

  • Engage clients with social and recreational activities

  • Implement individual goals and therapeutic interventions

  • Use large position equipment, such as prone standing tables, gait trainers, and mobile prone standers

  • Work collaboratively with our nursing department and other staff

  • Have fun with the clients and your co-workers

To be a DCT, you need:

  • No experience needed, just a willingness to learn - we provide lots of training and on-going training

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • The ability to lift and carry 65 lbs

  • Weekend/holiday availability - unless days off are scheduled on those days

  • The ability to pass a background check and drug screen, including marijuana

  • The willingness to get the flu shot during the season

  • We would like to have some individuals who are at least 21 years of age with a valid Nevada drivers license for at least 3 years in good standing. This would enable you to drive our company vehicles.

Respite Worker (RW) -  Varied

We are looking for compassionate and reliable respite workers who can provide short-term care for our service recipients in their homes or in the community.  We currently provide care to 65 families in this beautiful community.  We are looking for individuals with weekend & evening availability! This would be a great part-time job or for someone going to school!

As a respite worker, you will:

  • Provide personal care, supervision, and companionship to children and young adults with special needs

  • Assist with daily living activities such as feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting and other needs as outlined

  • Engage in recreational and educational activities that promote the physical, mental, and social well-being of the clients

  • Follow the individualized care plans and safety protocols for each client

  • Communicate effectively with the clients, their families, and the Eagle Valley staff

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of the services provided

To be eligible for this position, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Have weekend and evening availability

  • Get flu shot during flu season

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Have a valid Nevada driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation

  • Pass a background check and drug screening, including marijuana

  • Be willing to attending trainings and various meetings with the Respite Coordinator to expand knowledge and skill set

  • Have experience working with children or adults with special needs is great but not necessary. We are willing to train the right candidates.

We are looking for a certified nursing assistant to assist the staff nurse to perform routine nursing duties and tasks pertaining to the health aspects and well-being of our clients.

Qualities that will make you an outstanding candidate:

  • Current Nevada CNA License

  • 6 months of experience at a nursing home, Direct Care Trainer, or Respite Worker

  • Valid NV Driver License and to be able to be put on EVCH insurance carrier
