PROCLAMATION
Dated December 11, 2021
WHEREAS, Eagle Valley Children's Home in Carson City, Nevada was founded as a no-for-profit organization in July 1946 and is now in its 75th year of operation; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of Eagle Valley Children's Home is to provide specialized full-time care for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities either on site or in their homes as respite care; and
WHEREAS, most children were not expected to survive beyond their teen years due to the severity of their condition; and
WHEREAS, Eagle Valley Children's Home has provided exceptional care to its clients which has made it possible for the majority of them to live far beyond their original life expectancy; and
WHEREAS, this unusual success has provided quality care to the clients through the dedication, commitment and passion of the staff who professionally operate the facility 24-7, day after day, year after year.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Lori Bagwell, Mayor of Carson City, Nevada on behalf of the Board of Supervisors, do hereby proclaim December 11, 2021, as a day to honor all current and past employees of Eagle Valley Children's Home, and commend them for all the wonderful work they perform daily.
